DuPage Internet Internet provides broadband internet access that is independent of the telephone and cable companies. Our point-to-point connection doesn't need wires or cables to reach your building. No wires, no telco installers and no telco hassles. Whether you choose to depend on DuPage Internet for your main internet connection or as back up for disaster recovery, you can be assured of impeccable service and reliability unencumbered by the bureaucracy, costs and hassles for which the telcos are so well known.
Our entry level Business Plus service allows downloads up to 3.5Mbps for up to 16 seconds and is available for only a few dollars more per month than a 56K dial up account and phone line. Imagine browsing the web and downloading e-mail at over 50 times the speed of a 56Kbps modem for about the same cost! When compared to 128K Telco DSL service, DuPage Internet Business Plus wireless service is twice the overall speed for uploads but offers 20 times the speed for web browsing, e-mail and downloads at a substantially lower cost.

What is WiFi?

Wi-Fi is a wireless-technology brand owned by the Wi-Fi Alliance which promotes standards with the aim of improving the interoperability of wireless local area network products based on IEEE 802.11 standards. Common applications for Wi-Fi include Internet and VOIP phone access, gaming, and network connectivity for consumer electronics such as televisions, DVD players, and digital cameras.

How WiFi Works

Wireless Internet Access uses high-frequency radio technology to transmit and receive data to and from your home or business. There's no telephone line and no dialing; you're always connected. A small antenna/radio transceiver is mounted on your home or office building which establishes the connection with one of our broadcast locations. Because the radios require a clear "Line of Site" between the transmitting and receiving antennas, The antenna/radio transceiver is typically mounted either on the roof or chimney or, if one exists, on an existing television antenna mast. If you live in an area that is a low land (hills in the way) or with a lot of trees blocking the vision to the Main Antenna site we have a solution for you if you are within 3 miles of our Antenna. This solution allows signals to propagate through the tree areas and in many cases over and around hills to give you access.
